Students gain introductory knowledge and skills in basic precision machining and workforce readiness skills. This includes an introduction to employability success, basic shop math and hand measurement, blueprint reading, fundamental quality principles, workplace safety, use of various hand tools and safe operation of machine shop equipment such as, mills, lathes, grinders, band saw and drill presses. Employability success will be evaluated throughout the training.
